It’s a fairly quiet few days. Woulda thought that with everyone back from RT, there would be news and stuff and hoopla…Wait, there was hoopla, I just don’t feel like linking to it any more.
As Promised:
The Must-Reads
Economist Tyler Cowen has Travel Book Panic.
Ilona Andrews shows us how to conclude a novel. I think my 80k opus has just shrunk to 5k. Thanks Ilona!
Contest contest!
Kate Rothwell/Summer Devon is doing a contest. I picked Learning Charity, since I hit Sybil’s and she said she’s read and would recc it.
Jackie Kessler is a demon. Oh yes, she’s evil. That makes her a demon. Check out her latest contest–which she HAD to email me about too…just to taunt me, I’ll bet. Of course, you guys could contribute to my continued well-being and make me feel better by getting me the Schoolbag or the Queen of Hearts Tote.
My People:
Joely Sue Burkhart has sold, again to Drollerie Press! I’ve read an early draft of BloodRose and it’s soooooo good, I’m jealous. She shares the story of her writing BloodRose, and here’s an snippet she posted on Friday. Jane, you’ll be wanting a copy of this.
Rocking Romancelandia
Jane reviews Jennifer Estep’s Karma Girl…and there’s video to boot! Come by next week, as I will be outing Jennifer Estep as a member of the Insanity Posse–she deserves to be a superheroine simply for daring to brave my madness. In the meantime, you should also check out her First Sale Story.
Someone thinks Megan Hart has something to say.
Cindy “Ferfe La Bat” Cruciger shares pics of RT promo stuff.
Via Angela James, a new publisher: Resplendence Publishing.
Coming next week:
Reviews. I promise. I know I was supposed to post a review every week, but I’ve not had time to come up with more material for my June Month From Hell. Okay. Not reviews. Review then.

Thank you so much, May! You’re the first “non-family” person who’s read the whole thing, so your enjoyment of it means the world to me!
You’re welcome Joely, and I am very honored to be the first.
Is it just me or do things always heat up in the publishing world every spring? Between the RT kerfluffle and the all-out brawl as a result of one SFWA guy’s (I forget who) long-winded statement about free works online, it’s been an interesting past two months.
I’m just waiting for the RWA con in July. Now *that* will be interesting.
I think hayfever makes everyone irritable. Maybe that’s why, Kayla.
I know of the SFWA guy you’re talking about. They even had International Pixel Stained Technopeasant Day over the whole thing.
It sure will be interesting. Especially after last year’s kerfuffle.
Especially after the year *before* last year’s kerfluffle.
There’s always somethin’ going down…
Oh it was sooooo long ago? Jeez… Felt like yesterday. LOL!
Hey, look what I saw on Amazon today http://tinyurl.com/3ayuks
Oooh! I’ve not even gotten the second book though, Angie.
